Opening morning of the 2008 Republican State Convention, Dave Reichert gave a speech specifically designed to taunt Ron Paul supporters, claiming, over and over again, loudly, that the Party was united behind Illegal Amnesty and Environmentalist Energy Rationing proponent John McCain. He first drew boos. Liking that, he repeated himself, working to drive a wedge into the heart of the Party. Then a chant of simply “RON PAUL, RON PAUL, RON PAUL” shook the convention floor. The chant was so loud, audio of the event was altered by officials of the State Party prior to public posting to erase the record. Continue reading
Saturday (May 10), The Credentials Committee for the Washington State Convention met to decide on an unprecedented number of challenges to State Delegate positions based on allegations of cheating at the County Convention/District Caucus level. Ironically, the meeting was dominated by cheating in the Credentials Committee, itself, predominantly by State Party employees under the direct authority of State Chair, Luke Esser. This may foreshadow a dark future for the upcoming State Convention. Continue reading

It is an ancient principle that it is in the best interest of a child to have paternity established and left undisturbed by the courts. Insofar as practical that principle should be obeyed. But that principle was formed on the basis that children were almost always born within a marriage, and that the couple would raise the child together. Obviously that is no longer true but in support of that principle Colorado law at present makes it impossible for a divorced man, or an unmarried man against whom a paternity judgement has been entered to remove the obligation for child support despite DNA evidence
